Bilingual (Spanish-English) Human Rights Contract Attorney (remote)

CAL is seeking a Contract Attorney who is fluent in English and Spanish, comfortable with a diversity of tasks, and has experience working with impacted communities in the Global South. The ideal candidate is highly organized, self-motivated, and passionate about human rights and corporate accountability. 

The contract has an initial duration of 6 months, with the possibility of extension depending on funding. The Contract Attorney will be expected to work approximately 25 hours per week, for a total of 100 hours per month, with some flexibility on allocation of hours week-to-week. This position can be remote.

Bilingual Staff Attorney

CAL is seeking a Bilingual Staff Attorney to help us explore innovative civil litigation ideas and develop new strategies for human rights and environmental accountability across the globe. This is a full time Chicago-based position.

Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis. Ideal start date is late July or early August, though it is flexible.

CAL covers 80% of the cost of health, dental, and vision insurance for staff and dependents, as well as the full cost of a life insurance policy, plus a 3% non-elective annual IRA contribution. CAL actively encourages work-life balance through flexible working hours, unlimited paid time off (a minimum fourteen days vacation is required annually), and a child and pet-friendly office. The office is closed for thirteen holidays, as well as the last week of the year. Additionally, staff are encouraged to take off for observed religious holidays.
