Fall 2024 Legal Internship 

Description

Corporate Accountability Lab  is seeking law student interns for the Fall 2024. The interns will assist the organization in pursuing international supply chain transparency, exploring innovative civil litigation ideas, and developing new strategies for human rights and environmental accountability across the globe.


Responsibilities

This internship is part-time. Interns are asked to commit to a minimum of 10 hours per week for a minimum of three months. Although the timing is flexible, the student will ideally begin in August 2024 and intern through December 2024.

Interns will be given assignments related to Corporate Accountability Lab’s research areas and will be expected to conduct legal and factual research and to produce memos in a timely manner. Interns will be oriented to Corporate Accountability Lab’s research methods and expectations, and will receive assistance in legal writing and the development of writing samples. Students will be given opportunities to explore pressing global human rights issues through local events and direct engagement with advocates in the field. 

Internships are unpaid, but Corporate Accountability Lab will support the intern’s efforts to obtain outside funding or academic credit through their universities and other sources if needed. Students should check with their individual academic institutions for requirements.


Qualifications

Applicants should be: 

  • Organized, self-motivated, and reliable with a strong interest in human rights, international supply chains or corporate accountability.

Applicants should have:

  • Strong writing skills

  • Fluency in oral and written English

  • Experience with relevant coursework is desirable

  • Familiarity with and access to legal research databases is required

  • Computer skills (i.e., Microsoft Office, internet applications)
