Summer 2024 Legal Internship

Description

Corporate Accountability Lab is seeking law student interns for Summer 2024. Legal interns will assist the organization in pursuing international supply chain transparency, exploring innovative civil litigation ideas, and developing new strategies for human rights and environmental accountability across the globe.

Responsibilities

This internship is full time. Interns are asked to commit to a minimum of 8 weeks. Although the timing is flexible, the student will ideally begin in late May 2024 and intern through late August 2024.

Interns will be given assignments related to Corporate Accountability Lab’s research areas and will be expected to conduct legal and factual research and to produce memos in a timely manner. Interns will be oriented to Corporate Accountability Lab’s research methods and expectations, and will receive assistance in legal writing and the development of writing samples. Students will be given opportunities to explore pressing global human rights issues through local events and direct engagement with advocates in the field.

Internships are unpaid, but Corporate Accountability Lab will support the intern’s efforts to obtain outside funding or academic credit through their universities and other sources if needed. Students should check with their individual academic institutions for requirements.

Summer internships are in-person at CAL’s office in Chicago. (Generally Tuesday-Thursday in-office; Monday-Friday virtual.)
