Description

Corporate Accountability Lab is seeking a Communications & Development Intern for 5 to 10 hours a week during the Fall 2026 and/or Spring 2027 semesters. The communication and development intern will assist the organization with fundraising, donor relations, and social media strategizing to help support human rights and environmental accountability across the globe.

Internships are unpaid, but Corporate Accountability Lab will support the intern’s efforts to obtain outside funding or academic credit through their universities and other sources if needed. Students should check with their individual academic institutions for requirements.

CAL is in-person Tuesdays through Thursdays, and remote Mondays and Fridays. There is a preference for in-person availability, but remote interns will also be considered.


Responsibilities

  • Help support communications and content creation by drafting social media posts, website updates, blogs, newsletter updates, and other media announcements.

  • Help keep track of social media and donor metrics.

  • Assist with donor communications, including email, phone calls, and mail campaigns.

  • Research prospective individual donors, donor foundations, and government donors,  help update relevant databases, and send communications to individual donors. 

  • Provide logistical support for virtual or in-person meetings, and other administrative support.

  • Assist with designing flyers, posters, promotional materials, and reports.


Qualifications

  • Current enrollment in or recent graduate of a Bachelor’s program in Communications, Public Relations, Nonprofit Management, English, or a related field.

  • Strong verbal, written communication, and proofreading skills.

  • Attention to detail. 

  • Proficiency in Google Workspace and familiarity with major social media platforms such as Instagram, BlueSky, and LinkedIn. 

  • Experience with graphic design tools (such as Canva) are preferred 

  • The ability to work independently and maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive information.

  • Organized, self-motivated, and reliable.
